STRONG 8TH OVERALL FOR PHILIPPAERTS IN BULGARIA! The fifth round of the Fim Motocross World Championship was back to the marvellous bulgarian track of Sevlievo which celebrated the ten years with this event.

David Philippaerts managed to race two very consistent motos finishing 8th and 9th taking the 8th overall of the Grand Prix, battling all weekend with the top riders of the queen MX class onboard of his performant CRF450R Pro Circuit. In race #1 after a start in 6th position DP19 could mantain his place almost till the end of the race and same happened in race #2 when DP was riding in 7th place and just tired a few laps to the end of the GP after strong battles with Nagl and Searle. DP19 is now pointing to the top 10 of the overall of the championship after an unlucky start of the season!

COMPLICATED GP FOR PHILIPPAERTS IN ITALY For the fourth round of the Motocross World Championship the circus moved from Holland down to sunny and warm Italy, on the beautiful track of Arco di Trento, sourrounded by magical mountains.

Italy has been a tough weekend for DP19 who started on the saturday with a good qualifyng race finishing 10th despite a not very brilliant start. In race #1 on the Sunday, after starting in twelve position, DP19 was getting through the field and was already in 8th place when he badly crashed to pass british rider Shaun Simpson. Starting from last he came back to 15th place. In race #2 DP19 took a good start but at the second turn belgian Desalle crashed in front of him and David couldn’t avoid the collision and, again he had to start from last to finish 15th taking an unsatisfactory 14th place overall of the day.
I found my ride style, I had a good feelinf with my bike and I could pass easy the other riders. but I landed badly from a jump and I had a bad fall. I was again last and I could arrive only fifteen. While in the second moto Desalle crashed in front of me, I tried to not get him but I found myself down the hill jump, start from last place again was really hard I was very unmotivated. After the race all my friends, my fans,my team and my brother Deny come to me to support me and give me new energy, thank you very much and now I m ready for Bulgaria" |

The Motocross World Championship was coming back to Europe for the third round of the season and the frost has dominated the racing weekend after the warm Thailand weather !

David Philippaerts started very well his dutch GP with a 9th place in the qualifying race of the sunday on his improved CRF450R Pro Circuit, leaving behind him the likes of top riders Frossard, Searle, Nagl and Goncalves. In race #1 DP19 did not have the best start and could manage to pass the first turn around the thirteenth position and with and aggressive ride got passed some riders in front to reach the british rider Tommy Searle and pass him for the 9th overall place when the group of the leaders was already too far to be approached. In race #2 DP19 took a great start in second position just behind factory rider Bobryshev and could manage to ride the first four laps battling with De Dycker and Cairoli but suddenly he experienced problems with his clutch register and had to slow down and retire, a shame because he could not score heavy points for the overall.
“The team and I are making esperience with Honda 450 we need to grow together and every gp I feel that we are improving but I think is normal to have some difficult and some problem. Gp by gp we will arrive at the perfect performace! I feel very good in my team and I sure we can get result soon” |

The second Grand Prix of the Motocross World Championship was run in the new venue of Si Racha in Thailand under testing conditions due to the hot temperature and high humidity. Another beautiful layout for the new track of Si Racha with many jumps sections and a perfect ground which could withstand with the heavy rain of friday night.

David Philippaerts after the positive start of the seaon in Qatar last weekend, was aiming to close the gap with the top five riders and, the mission was quite accomplished in the MX1 race where after starting around the eleven position, DP19 could fight through the field to finish a very good 6th behind Cairoli, Desalle, Paulin and Searle and in front of top riders Frossard, Roelants, Strijbos and Gonçalves with laptimes matching the top four riders of the race. In the Superfinal DP19 took a good start in the top pack but a slower rider on the second turn, forced him to brake too aggressively causing the shutdown of his CRF engine. After restarting his bike and from the 40th position, DP19 fought back to the 14th place of the MX1 class for an 11th place overall which does not reflect his real potential in this GP. |
